This position provides support to three key student conduct areas: Upper-Level Hearing Officer; Training and Recruitment; and Compliance and Assessment.  The three Assistant Directors take on various areas of responsibility which can be rotated including University Hearing Board and Policy and Process Advisor; recruitment, training, and scheduling; sanction conditions; learning outcomes; web page communications; and Hearing Officer training and support.   The ideal candidate will demonstrate experience interpreting policy; creating educational learning outcomes; successfully collaborating with campus constituents; advising; marketing; and a commitment to student success and inclusion, equity, and diversity.    Responsibilities Include:

  • Serve as a University Hearing Officer with a focus on upper-level cases including serious/recurring, alcohol and drug involved, sexual misconduct and group adjudication
  • Provide accurate, consistent, and detailed process information to all students and advisors
  • Maintain accurate records of status of cases
  • Track status of citations through District Justice Offices and provide appropriate case status information to Hearing Officers
  • Engage in continual education on best practices in student conduct
  • Prepare and contribute related materials for all students, advisors, and Hearing Officers
  • Train campus and system constituents on student conduct process 
  • Conduct on-going training with Hearing Officers
  • Serve as a resource to students, staff and faculty on the interpretation and implementation of University policies, as defined by the Student Code of Conduct
  • Coordinate compliance, communication, and prevention initiatives for outstanding sanctions and conditions
  • Coordinate assessment activities for the programs offered
  • Compile annual statistics
  • Compile evidence of student learning outcomes 
  • Assist with policy writing
  • Assist with the annual revision of the Student Code of Conduct
  • Assist with University Hearing support
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's degree plus 2 years OR bachelor's degree plus 5 years experience in Student Affairs, Higher Education, Counseling, or closely related field AND
  • Two years professional experience assisting teens and/or young adults with fostering personal development and following community standards

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing teen and young adult situations involving serious incidents, alcohol and drugs, sexual misconduct and/or groups
  • Experience esigning and implementing training programs
  • Experience using conduct software programs
  • Demonstrated understanding of assessment and student learning outcomes
  • Data Management experience
  • Demonstrated experience addressing behavior with a learning outcome focus
