Job Description Summary:
The Research Student Assistant will provide support to the Texas A&M AgriLife Agriculture, Food and Nutrition Evidence Center. The Research Student Assistant will work on special projects as assigned.
Job Description Responsibilities:
Ability to read and understand scientific literature, including being able to identify study characteristics such as populations, interventions/exposures, comparators, and outcomes
Knowledge of different types of study designs and ability to identify study designs
Screen studies for evidence reviews by comparing literature to a set of inclusion/exclusion criteria
Up to 20 hours per week; workload will fluctuate on weekly basis
Requirements:
Experience with nutrition research or a related field (e.g., public health, epidemiology)
Experience with data analysis and interpretation
Computer access
Preferred Requirements:
- Graduate student currently enrolled in a nutrition graduate program or a graduate program in a related field
Knowledge, Skills and Ability:
Ability to understand scientific literature related to nutrition and health
Strong communication skills, both written and oral
Ability for critical thinking
Attention to detail
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
