Job Summary

The Project Coordinator I, under general supervision, supervises, coordinates, and assists with the completion of projects. Develops and coordinates project plans through full implementation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Works to determine project needs. Writes reports and other related materials. Monitors and reports on activity for assigned projects.

  • Coordinates the development, design, purchase and installation and implementation of new services. Maintains database integrity, security, and accuracy.

  • Coordinates project activities including project initiation, value assessments, work plan development, estimating, and project controls.

  • Coordinates with vendors and others in the delivery and support for systems and services.

  • Coordinates multiple work streams to ensure cross-project dependencies and impacts are identified and managed. Ensures compliance with applicable regulations.

  • May supervise students.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Manages CleryEdge software program in support of compliance activities.

  • Works with the appropriate University Departments to identify all Campus Security Authorities for the institution and maintains a list of them for each academic year. Consolidates relevant data from these sources with information and policies from across institutional departments Coordinates with the appropriate campus departments to ensure compliance with HEA Fire Safety regulations.

  • Works with the institutional police department/public safety Records Division to ensure proper classification of crime incident reports.

  • Trains key CSAs and other institutional stakeholders on Clery Act requirements.

  • Ensures the institution maintains accurate records on security awareness and crime prevention programs and presentations.

  • Ensures compliance with the daily crime and fire log requirements.

  • Works with counseling and psychological services and Student Health Services (or similar advocacy center) to gather statistical data related to crimes disclosed to those offices.

  • Works with the Office of Student Engagement and/or Human Resources to ensure compliance with the Drug Free Schools and Safe Campuses regulations.

  • Serves on the Clery Act Management Committee

  • Public Information and Outreach, liaison with Public Relations, Marketing and Information Services (PRMIS)

  • UPD outreach programming support (RAD, ALERRT, National Night Out, Crime Stoppers)

Minimum Requirements

  • Education - Bachelor’s degree in applicable field.

  • Experience – Three years of related experience in project coordination or administration.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Familiar with the requirements of the Clery Act.

  • Familiar with Title IX.

  • Work experience with an institution of Higher Education.

  • Bilingual (English and Spanish).

Knowledge and Abilities

Knowledge of:

  • Word processing and spreadsheet applications.

  • Standard proofreading.

Ability to:

  • Multitask and work cooperatively with others.

  • Prioritize, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.

Preferred Knowledge and Abilities

  • Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act

  • Title IX regulations.

  • Communicate orally and in writing.

  • Apply excellent organizational skills.

  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills.

Licensing / Professional Certification – None.

Other Requirements

  • Evening and weekend work may occasionally be required.

  • Position requires on campus, face-to-face interactions.

  • Position requires maintaining a regular schedule of attendance on campus and in the workplace.

  • Must complete Introductory Clery Act training class within six (6) months of hire.

  • Must complete Advanced Clery Act training within 18 months of hire.

Salary: $17.54/hourly
