The Department of Psychiatry and the Behavioral Sciences at the Keck School of Medicine of USC is seeking a full-time licensed Psychologist to serve in a combined role at the USC Kortschak Center for Learning and Creativity (KCLC) and in one of the department’s outpatient practices, such as at USC Student Counseling and Mental Health (CMH) and Psychiatry and Behavioral Health Services (PBHS) clinic at University Park Campus (UPC) and Psychiatry and Behavioral Health Services at Health Sciences Campus (HSC) and Downtown Los Angeles (DTLA).

Essential Functions of the Clinical Psychologist:
Under the direction of the Chair of the Department of Psychiatry and division chiefs, the Clinical Psychologist will be responsible for the following:
[50% effort]Within one of the Department of Psychiatry’s clinical practices, the Clinical Psychologist will:
Provide direct care of patients, including:
Perform initial diagnostic evaluations and biopsychosocial assessments
Provide treatment and discharge planning
Provide evidence-based psychological interventions in individual and group modalities
Evaluate and intervenes in crisis situations
Provide indirect patient care, including:
Complete documentation and billing in a timely manner in accordance with clinic and departmental policies
Participate in clinical outcomes evaluation
Collaborate and consults with other mental health and primary care providers involved in the care of patients
Provide training, education, and case consultation to department/division colleagues in areas of clinical expertise, as needed
May provide psycho-educational workshops to USC faculty, staff, and students
May supervise interns, psychology practicum students, post-doctoral/post-graduate fellows, and other trainees, as assigned
May participate in after-hours coverage, as needed and assigned
Serve on department committees and attend department meetings, as assigned
Participate in yearly merit review and quality improvement activities
[50% effort]Within the USC Kortschak Center, the Clinical Psychologist will:
Serve as Training Director for the KCLC APPIC Postdoctoral Fellowship and BBS Marriage and Family Therapy Trainee(s)
Provide direct mental health services to USC students and/or Keck Medicine of USC patients
Supervise Postdoctoral Fellow(s) for professional licensure in psychology
Provide training in psychoeducational assessment/diagnosis, direct clinical services, professional development seminar series, crisis intervention, individual and group psychotherapy
Provide training in the administration, scoring, and interpretation of: WAIS-IV, Woodcock-Johnson-IV, WIAT-4, WMS-IV; D-KEFS; NDRT; TOVA; IVA-2; Personality Assessment; Self-Report Inventories
Serve as primary supervisor for the Marriage and Family Therapy Trainees
Provide individual and group psychological counseling services for USC Students
Supervise interns and trainees
Develop and conduct group therapy sessions and group workshops
Oversee trainee and staff Assessment Seminar
Facilitate trainee group supervision
Oversee management of APPIC membership
Develop and conduct group therapy sessions and group workshops
Provide consultation services for faculty, staff and other clinicians regarding student related programs and services
Participate in KCLC research initiatives
Minimum Qualifications:
Doctoral degree in Counseling or Clinical Psychology (PhD or PsyD) from an APA accredited program
2+ years Licensed and in good standing in the state of California
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiar with APPIC guidelines
Familiar with BBS guidelines
Specialty or advanced training with disability population
Experience training and supervising post-docs, interns, and trainees
Work experience in college counseling centers and/or with transitional age youth (TAY), including supporting college students with learning differences
Demonstrated expertise in psychoeducational assessment/diagnosis
Well-developed clinical skills and experience utilizing evidenced-based interventions for the treatment of mental health conditions
Willingness and ability to see a high volume of patients and meet departmental productivity standards
Effectively works in a highly diverse, multicultural, and LGBTQIA affirmative environment
Ability to manage work effort in two different environments or settings
A commitment to promoting equity through the identification and removal of barriers, facilitation of learning, cultivation of community, on-going cultural education and empowerment of students
Foreign language skills are welcome
This is a full-time clinical faculty position in the Department of Psychiatry and the Behavioral Sciences at the Keck School of Medicine of USC. Salary is competitive and contingent on experience.
