Computer Systems Administration Analyst

Idaho National Laboratory is hiring a Computer Systems Administration Analyst to work in our Computer Engineering department. Our team works a 4x10 schedule located out of our Materials and Fuels Complex with every Friday off.

The Material and Fuels Complex (MFC) Computer Engineering team is looking for an Active Directory and Server Engineer responsible for design and implementation coordination of enterprise level directory solutions.

Responsibilities Include:

We ask that you have an in-depth knowledge of the x.500 standards, Microsoft Active Directory, Domain controllers, group policy and proficiency in PowerShell scripting. You will have knowledge of VMware operations, implementation, and management. You have demonstrated prior and active experience managing active group and security policy, certificate management, and multi domain integration. You will support the continuing goal of incorporating these technologies into the department’s Industrial Control Systems (ICS) growing network.

Description of Responsibilities (among other tasks as assigned):

  • Analysis, design, testing and deployment of Active Directory Group Policy Objects
  • Develop standards, security requirements, architectural modifications, and additions, and provide engineering and operations leadership team to team members.
  • Manage and perform engineering role for large-scale Active Directory efforts and plans.
  • Manage the VMware environment and server virtual machine maintenance and upgrades.
  • Manage digital certificates for the directory, network, and other applications.
  • Manage SAN architecture and backup solutions.
  • Perform various responsibilities to support audit and compliance deliverables.
  • Develop detailed architecture, standards, design and implementation documentation.
  • Analyze current Active Directory GPOs to identify both technical and operational challenges while making recommendations and developing solutions for improvement.
  • Lead complex or high severity troubleshooting and incident/problem resolutions with other infrastructure team members.

Oversee administration of laboratory computer software systems, e.g., human resources, property management, financial systems, procurement, engineering. Support needs of the programming staff, prioritize service requests, develop, and recommend solutions to system needs, and resolve conflicts and problems that occur between end users. Manage system access and ensure system availability for process needs.

*Minimum Requirements: *

  • PR0200/PR0300- Baccalaureate in related field (i.e., Information Systems) with 2-5 years relevant experience
  • Relevant experience in Information Systems Administration.
  • May work a rotating 12-hr sliding schedule as directed by management to support manufacturing production schedule.
  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy "Q" clearance, which requires US Citizenship.

  • Salary Grade: PR0200 - 190 – ($72,528 - $119,652)/PR0300- 210 – ($95,928 - $158,232)
