Job Description

The Assistant or Associate Professor faculty position in Marketing is responsible for the development, coordination, and teaching of Marketing courses in the College of Business, Engineering, and Technology. The successful candidate will possess documented capability in teaching, scholarship, and service, and will be expected to foster the growth of first-rate Marketing courses. This candidate will be responsible for addressing student needs in Marketing and assisting the Department Chair and Dean in the implementation of short- and long-term goals of the Department and College. This candidate will also assist Marketing faculty with program development, assessment, and expansion of course offerings.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Teach assigned Marketing courses.

  • Perform scholarly activities consistent with AACSB standards.

  • Work collaboratively with faculty across disciplines.

  • Contribute to curriculum, course development, program assessment, and continuous improvement.

  • Provides services to the department, college, university, community, and the profession.

  • May conduct supplemental instructional activities such as independent studies, internships, advising.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE

Education Requirements:

  • A PhD or DBA in Marketing from an accredited college or university. ABD candidates may be considered if PhD or DBA is earned prior to start date.

Skills Requirement:

  • Ability to work within a collaborative faculty environment.

  • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.

  • Ability to effectively work with and advise students.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Documented capability of teaching, scholarship, and service in Marketing commensurate for appointment at the assistant, or associate professor rank.

  • Experience in teaching upper or lower division courses utilizing current technologies supporting both face to face and virtual learning environments (i.e., BlendFlex, HyFlex) at the university level.

  • Able to effectively use different learning management systems (i.e., Blackboard, Canvas).

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

  • Industry knowledge in the field of Marketing.

  • Track record of excellence (or evidence of potential) in teaching (including online) various Marketing subjects such as Digital and Social Media Marketing, Consumer Behavior, Marketing Promotion, Marketing Research, and International Marketing, Hospitality and Tourism.

  • Experience in research productivity, including publication knowledge and understanding of peer-reviewed research processes.

  • Experience with using open education resources in teaching (including online).

  • Experience with experiential learning practices.

  • Experience with accreditation processes (e.g., SACSCOC, AACSB, etc.) and assessment activities, including data collection, data analysis, and continuous improvement.

  • Experience with graduate program development.
