Position Details: The Master Scheduler at Stella-Jones ensures the execution of the demand plan into a schedule by prioritizing, analyzing and organizing workloads across the company treating plants. A key part of the role is managing production schedules across treating plants to maximize availability of product to meet customer required ship dates, while meeting inventory and service goals and optimizing equipment and plant utilization. The Master Scheduler works with facility and sales leadership teams daily to resolve any scheduling concerns. This position is open due to an internal promotion and will be office-based in Tacoma, Washington. Principal Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain master production schedule.
  • Work with Account Managers and Regional Sales Managers to allocate sales orders to plants in such a way that optimizes supply chain costs while considering plant certifications, physical limitations and current order backlog.
  • Evaluate current scheduling procedures and recommend changes to improve the efficiency of planning and scheduling, while specifically identifying opportunities to reduce demand volatility in schedules.
  • Represent Operations during the order quoting process.
  • Proactively works with Operations, Resource, Transportation, and Sales to ensure the smooth flow of material to production through the plant.
  • Collaborate with designated plant representatives and Sales to manage plant inventories and target levels
  • Compile production metrics from a variety of sources and locations to assess performance and identify opportunities
  • Provide FG replenishment guidance to the sales organization
  • Identify, assess and communicate risks to Sales, Operations, Transportation and Resource Managers
  • Coordinate and expedite priority orders
  • Maintain and report on KPI's
  • Provides guidance to Sales and Operation on location, condition, price and quantity of raw inventory.
  • Provide guidance to Operations and Resource regarding changes in sales profiles or velocities.
  • Participates and contributes to company safety program.

Qualifications:

  • Education: BA/BS Degree in Business, Supply Chain Mgmt, Logistics, Project Mgmt or related field preferred
  • Experience: Five or more years of experience in scheduling/planning or related field preferred
  • Previous leadership experience a plus
  • License/Certification: APICS Certification preferred
