Eaton’s ES AMER ESS division is currently seeking a Engineering Lab Technician. This role is based out of our South Milwaukee, WI location.

The Engineering Lab Technician will be responsible for leading activities in an engineering prototype lab. This will include building prototypes, gathering materials, and performing testing. We are looking for a person that will take ownership of the lab and drive 5S+ standards.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with their hands using many different types of tools. The candidate will execute builds and tests under the direction of product engineers, and the person will perform detailed documentation of the work done.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $48750.03 - $76999.96 a year.

What you’ll do:

• Work closely with NPD engineers on requirements for upcoming prototype activities on development projects.

• Use hand tools and power tools to build prototypes and other units for experimental purposes.

• Work under the direction of engineers to execute design testing on prototypes, pilots, and other experimental units.

• Adhere to proper safety protocols while testing units at medium voltage levels.

• Own general cleanliness and drive 5S+ standards in an engineering lab.

• Use a computer to create documentation of procedures used in the lab to execute testing. Also, create very detailed documentation of observations during testing.

• Assist engineers in receiving incoming shipments of experimental materials. Help gather parts needed for prototype builds.

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

• A two 2-year technical engineering degree OR Five (5) years of factory experience at Eaton’s South Milwaukee facility.

• Basic computer skills including a basic understanding of Microsoft Office products

• Must reside within a 50-mile radius of the work location(s) listed on this posting. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

• No relocation is being offered for this role.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in an engineering prototype lab.

• Experience executing electrical testing on products.

Skills:

• Knowledge and skill using hand and power tools.

• Basic computer knowledge
