The purpose of this position is to utilize GIS mapping systems to accurately design and represent Fiber to the Home (FTTH) Outside Plant (OSP). You will be expected to promote ALLOs culture: Were Exceptional, Local, Hassle Free and Honest.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with Allo design team and review current OSP design to understand principles and practices of current Allo FTTH design.
  • Plan and design FTTH networks following construction and government standards using 3-GIS design software.
  • Review auto generated network designs Allo design guidelines to ensure adherence to Allo design guidelines.
  • Coordinating with the Engineer and Senior Fiber Designer, Plan and FTTH networks following construction and government standards utilizing GIS software (3-GIS).
  • Ability to utilize survey reports, maps, drawings, aerial photography and other geographic data for consideration in FTTH design.
  • Work with Construction and Customer service to ensure outside plant and address data in all systems accurately reflect as-built state.
  • Update existing GIS databases (3-GIS) utilizing As-Built drawings and electronic data sources.
  • Review and correct auto generated network designs utilizing Allo design guidelines.
  • Generate maps from GIS software (3-GIS) for permitting, construction, splicing, and general design

EDUCATION:

  • High School diploma.
  • Associates degree preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Knowledge of fiber design.
  • Experience with Google Maps/Earth, ESRI, Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Cartography or community fiber planning experience preferred

SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE / ABILITIES:

  • Attention to detail is paramount.
  • Ability to read and interpret legal descriptions.
  • Ability to work independently on multifaceted projects.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to present facts clearly and accurately in graphic form.
  • Experience working to tight deadlines.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Must be able to work overtime as required

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Remain stationary for extended periods.
  • Ability to communicate information.
  • Ability to operate a computer.
  • Possess/maintain a valid driver\'s license.
  • Travel up to 25%.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
