The Roy research lab at the Moran Eye Center at University of Utah (https://www.royvisionlab.com) is looking for a motivated and talented graduate student to work on project(s) aimed at studying mechanisms of visual signaling by retinal neurons, in normal and diseased states. The position will be filled by a candidate admitted to one of the graduate programs at University of Utah outlined below. The candidate will gain experience in advanced techniques in retinal research: ex vivo electrophysiology, dissection skills, data analysis, computational modeling, and animal handling and surgery. There will be opportunities to work on collaborative projects with other labs.Successful applicant will have excellent scientific, problem-solving, organizational, and writing skills.
