University of Utah Open Rank Faculty Position in Behavioral in SALT LAKE CITY, Utah

The Division of Health System Innovation and Research (HSIR), Department of Population Health Sciences in the School of Medicine is seeking applicants for a tenure track or tenured faculty position (open rank). HSIR conducts high-impact research aimed to improve the efficiency, value, and quality of care delivered by healthcare systems and clinicians, in order to improve population health and reduce health disparities.We are looking for collaborative colleagues with a strong record or potential for independent scholarship in behavioral economics or the decision sciences. Scholarship that advances methodologies and demonstrates novel applications of principles and concepts from behavioral economics or related fields, such as social psychology, judgment and decision making, health economics and decision-making, experimental economics, neuroeconomics, and data science and behavioral analytics to the study of population health issues and health systems outcomes is desired. Examples of research areas or expertise for this position include behavioral nudges/interventions, decision support interventions, health incentives, health equity, food choice and obesity, and physical activity.The applicant should also demonstrate a willingness to support collaboration in implementation science, clinical research, and patient-oriented or community-based participatory research. The applicant should have experience or strong interest in interdisciplinary team science in collaboration with health services researchers, social scientists, clinicians, and other disciplines. Mid- to late-career applicants should demonstrate a strong record of extramural funding and mentorship of early career faculty and doctoral students. Applicants should also demonstrate a commitment to advancing health equity, diversity and inclusion in their research team, institution, and the community. Applicants from communities traditionally underrepresented in higher education and the health sciences are especially encouraged to apply.Applications will be evaluated based on applicants career stage.Qualifications:A Ph.D. or equivalent in economics, psychology, decision sciences, public health, health services research, population health sciences, business, public policy, social sciences, data science, or related areasA record of independent research in the application of principles and concepts from behavioral economics or related fields, such as social psychology, judgment and decision making, health economics and decision-making, experimental economics, neuroeconomics, and data science and behavioral analyticsA record or strong potential of establishing independent, extramurally-funded research projects commensurate with career stageStrong communication skills and engagement with diverse audiencesSuccess or strong potential in leading and/or participating in multi-disciplinary, multi-sector teams commensurate with career stageTeaching and mentoring experience in relevant areasDemonstrated record of interdisciplinary collaborationHow to Apply:Rank and salary are commensurate with qualifications and experience.
