The Center on Mindfulness and Integrative Health Intervention Development (C-MIIND) is looking for a strong candidate who is interested in being a member of a research team dedicated to doing their part in solving todays opioid and chronic pain epidemics. This available position is for an Hourly Research Assistant who will work on research studies of mindfulness and mind-body therapies for chronic pain and opioid misuse. The research assistant will be responsible for the conduct of clinical studies, neuroscience, and quantitative sensory testing research. The research assistant will recruit, enroll, and assess patients with multiple comorbidities, including chronic pain, mental health disorders, and substance use disorders. This position is open to both University of Utah students and non-students.The Center on Mindfulness and Integrative Health Intervention Development (C-MIIND) was established in May 2017 at the University of Utah with the following mission: to develop, test, optimize, and disseminate mindfulness and other integrative health interventions by translating discoveries from basic biobehavioral science into solutions for health and society. C-MIINDs research efforts target complex, comorbid chronic health and mental health problems (chronic pain, opioid misuse, obesity, depression, addiction, etc.) that have not yet been solved by traditional medical approaches.
