Minimum Qualifications Two years of experience in maintenance or mechanical work under the supervision of a skilled trades worker or completion of an appropriate two-year technical school course.
Duties Description Duties and responsibilities will include operating tractors, skid steers, small construction related equipment, riding mowers, push mowers and weed eaters. Incumbent will also be tasked with vehicle and building cleaning when time allows. General landscaping tasks which will include beautification of multiple gardens, mowing/raking lawns, trimming trees and bushes. Skills inboth general and finish carpentry, plumbing, electrical and masonry repairs which can include form building, water line repair and replacement, minor concrete repair or replacement are helpful. Snowplowing and snow removal during winter months, along with salt spreading in icy areas. Basic automotive/machinery repair skills are helpful. Operate medium trucks while transporting machinery/supplies to hatcheries. Some basic computer skills are needed.
Additional Comments Must have a valid driver’s license or demonstrate the ability to meet the transportation needs of the position. Use of personal protection equipment, including a respirator, will be required. Must be able to negotiate difficult terrain Must be able to work in remote areas. Must be able to work in remote areas Must be able to work in adverse weather conditions. Travel may be required. Overnight travel may be required. Must be able to lift and move objects up to 80 pounds.This is a seasonal, hourly appointment with an anticipated end date of 3/31/2025.
