Facilities and Laboratory Support Coordinator

Job Responsibilities:

Responsibilities fall within The Center for Bioscience Education and Technology and The Clinical Health Sciences Center:

  • Assists with hiring, mentoring and training of stockroom/lab support student employees

  • Coordinates the stockroom schedule

  • Supports stockroom and laboratory operations, include daily reporting and record keeping

  • Assists with Safety Compliance

  • Assists with the performance of lab safety inspections with EH&S personnel

  • Supports and interfaces with faculty with regards to class needs on a daily basis and compliance concerns

  • Assists with swipe access and scheduling for building, laboratories, and classrooms

  • Assists with the performance of yearly chemical inventories and property control

  • Supports oversight of equipment repair and maintenance

  • Assists with procurement procedures

  • Manages All CHST Digital SignageOther duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

A minimum of one year of experience is required to perform the essential responsibilities of the job.

The following special skills and/or behavioral competencies required to perform the essential responsibilities of the job:

  • Life Sciences and Chemistry wet-lab experience

  • Biological, medical and chemical waste handling and gas cylinder handling

  • Very good written and verbal communication skills

  • Maintenance of microbiology cultures

  • Very good time management skills

  • Knowledge of the operation of scientific equipment (i.e.: sterilizer, etc.)
