Assistant/Associate Professor in Veterinary Radiology/Diagnostic Imaging-Veterinary Clinical Sciences Available Title(s): 164-NNFACULTY - Clinical Assistant Professor - Career, 165-NNFACULTY - Clinical Associate Professor - Career, 270-NNFACULTY - Assistant Professor, 280-NNFACULTY - Associate Professor Business Title: Assistant/Associate Professor in Veterinary Radiology/Diagnostic Imaging-Veterinary Clinical Sciences Employee Type: Faculty Time Type: Full time Position Term: 12 Month Position Details: Job Description Summary: The Washington State University (WSU) Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences (VCS) in the College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM) is inviting applicants to fulfill a faculty position opening in Veterinary Radiology/Diagnostic Imaging. This position can be full-time continuous career track (clinical track) or permanent tenure track, depending on the preference and qualifications of the applicant. Candidates will have the opportunity to adjust their schedule to satisfy personal or professional needs outside their appointment, including external consultation services if desired. The successful applicant will join three other full-time board-certified radiologists as well as three residents, two specialty interns, two licensed veterinary technicians and multiple, trained, DVM student employees. Summary of Duties: The successful applicant will provide diagnostic service for the VTH, clinical and didactic instruction of professional veterinary students, interns, residents, and graduate students, and conduct collaborative or independent research/scholarship within the candidate's area of interest. Expectations for scholarship/research will be greater for a successful tenure track applicant, appropriate to rank. The successful applicant will work along with three experienced radiologists in a collaborative environment alongside our many specialty clinicians as cases are interpreted and managed. Required Qualifications: The candidate must possess a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree or foreign equivalent degree (i.e., BVSc), and be board-certified or board-eligible in Radiology/Imaging by the American College of Veterinary Radiology or the European College of Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging by the time of hire. Successful candidates must demonstrate a commitment and relevant ability to successfully advocate diversity and values of diversity. Considerations regarding rank and faculty track will be determined based on the interests and qualifications of the candidate, as will division of time between teaching, clinical duty, and scholarly activity. As mentioned, scheduling flexibility to allow for more off-clinic time, including enabling independent consultation, is readily negotiable. For Tenure Track consideration, candidates must demonstrate a significant record of scholarship. Applicants for an Assistant Professor position must demonstrate potential to establish and maintain an externally funded research program. Applicants for Associate Professor must have an active extramurally-funded research program with a record of peer-reviewed publications and national/international recognition. Preferred Qualifications: Preferred qualifications for both career and tenure track applicants include a record of scholarly productivity consistent with the level of experience and appropriate to rank and track (Assistant or Associate/Career or Tenure), as evidenced by collaborative basic, clinical or applied research and publication of results in peer-reviewed scientific journals, evidence of expertise in teaching, and commitment to provision of outstanding clinical service.
