University of Pennsylvania Assistant Professor Tenure Track Faculty in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

The Department of Dermatology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for several Assistant Professor positions in the tenure track. The successful applicant will have experience in the field of Dermatology and Skin Biology and is expected to have several years of postdoctoral research experience. Applicants must have an outstanding record of training and publications . Applicants must have an M.D., Ph.D, or M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent degree.

Teaching responsibilities may include teaching post-doctoral fellows and graduate students. Candidates with an MD may also be involved in teaching residents.

Clinical responsibilities may include patient care responsibilities in the ambulatory and inpatient settings, for candidates with an MD.

Research or scholarship responsibilities may include conducting a research program in an area relevant to skin and/or skin disease. Current research interests in the Department include: skin and hair follicle stem cells; skin regenerative biology and wound healing; epigenetic regulation of skin development and homeostasis; signaling and transcriptional regulation of skin and hair follicle development; epidermal differentiation, adhesion, and signal transduction; development of three-dimensional human tissue models to study mechanisms governing epithelial homeostasis and progression to invasive carcinoma; mouse models of skin cancer; microRNA functions in the skin; the skin microbiome; basic studies of autoimmune blistering and rheumatologic diseases of the skin, impetigo and staphylococcal scalded skin syndrome; basic pathophysiologic and immunologic studies of cutaneous T cell lymphoma; dermatoepidemiology; and clinical trials research.
