Northwell Health EKG Technician - Per Diem and Contract - Suffolk County in Peconic, New York

Responsibilities:

  • Performs EKG and pediatric EKG testing following department policies and procedures

  • Identifies patient and assists patient in preparing for testing

  • Applies electrodes for EKG testing according to universal standards for lead placement

  • Applies electrodes for pediatric EKG testing to include right-sided chest leads and posterior chest leads

  • Applies electrodes for Signal Average EKG testing according to policy and procedure

  • Answers questions regarding procedure in order to make patient as relaxed as possible

  • Prepares EKG machine for daily use

  • Checks equipment and supplies, as well as assembles basic EKG equipment

  • Removes and cleans equipment at the end of shift

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required

  • Current Basic Life Support Professional Certification required

  • 1-3 years of technical experience, required.

The salary range for this position is $45-$85/hour
