Description of Department: The Marketing & Management Department is part of the AACSB accredited SUNY Oswego School of Business. The department is home to world-renowned scholars and award-winning faculty members who excel in teaching and service. The department is responsible for undergraduate degrees in business administration, human resource management, marketing, operations management, two Master of Business Administration degrees, and several five-year BS/MBA programs. The Department also offers minors in Entrepreneurship, Business Analytics, Sales and International Business. The department faculty advise a variety of student-run clubs such as the AMA, Women in Business, Phi Beta Lambda, SHRM, Beta Gama Sigma. The School's other academic department - Accounting, Finance and Business Law- offers undergraduate degrees in accounting, finance, and risk management & insurance, five year BS/MBA accounting programs. In addition to the Oswego campus, classes are offered in Syracuse and online.

The Department of Marketing and Management at the State University of New York at Oswego invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor of Management or Marketing specializing in Entrepreneurship.

Description of Responsibilities: The Assistant Professor of Management or Marketing (Entrepreneurship) will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the entrepreneurship area that may include Introduction to Entrepreneurship, Creativity and Innovation, Entrepreneurial Marketing and Sales, Entrepreneurship Capstone Project. Depending on their background they may also be expected to teach General Management or Marketing courses. Responsibilities also include student advising, research, and university service. A required component of service for this position is to be the bridge between the students and the region's entrepreneur community, including coordinating the "Launch It" student competition that is one of the signature annual events for the school.

Job Requirements:

Required Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Entrepreneurship and/or Management and/or Marketing or related areas from an AACSB-accredited institution, ABD candidates with degree completion by May 2025 will be considered.

  • A commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Entrepreneurship, Management, or Marketing

  • Case-based and project-based teaching experience

  • Remote/online teaching experience

  • Peer-reviewed journal publications

  • Relevant work experience in engaging with the entrepreneur community

  • Experience working with diverse students in a multicultural environment.

  • Student organization leadership and event organization and planning
