Sunrise Fleet Maintenance LLC Senior Diesel Technician in North Brunswick, New Jersey

Job Summary:We seek a highly skilled and experienced Senior Diesel Technician to join our team. As a Senior Diesel Technician, you will play a crucial role in the maintenance and repair of tractors and trailers utilized in the transportation industry. This position requires at least 8 years of experience in road service or similar environments, with proficiency in tractor/trailer repair, maintenance, and inspection. The ideal candidate will possess advanced skills in mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic diagnostics.Responsibilities:Perform diagnostic tests on diesel engines and equipment to identify issues.Perform licensed DOT inspections, preventative maintenance inspections, and light, medium and heavy repairs on tractors and trailers.Can effectively generate solutions to address identified issues, considering efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and safety.Conduct thorough assessments to identify problems with refrigeration systems in tractors and trailers.Act as a consultant on behalf of the company, ensuring the customers’ needs are met efficiently and effectively.Adhere to all company policies and consistently achieve high-level performance metrics.Perform daily pre/post trip inspections on company-issued service trucks, ensuring they are well-maintained and safe for operation.Utilize welding techniques to repair or fabricate components, while strictly adhering to safety protocols.Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repairs performed according to company standards, including detailed documentation of work performed, parts used, and observed findings.Conduct road tests on vehicles to diagnose malfunctions and ensure proper functionality.Requirements:Proficiency in performing refrigeration (refer) repairs.Valid driver's license and safe driving record.High School Diploma/GED required, additional degree or certification in a related field preferred.6-8 years of experience as a diesel technician, preferably in a road service or similar environment.Possess strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues, assess information accurately and utilize sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternative solutions.Proficiency in computer diagnostics and troubleshooting.Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.Reliable transportation to and from work.*Willingness to work in a drug-free environment and pass random drug tests as required.
