New York University Assistant Research Scientist, part-time non-exempt in New York

The Assitant Research Scientist, part-time non-exempt, will be assisting with several research projects in the African Paleosciences Laboratory within the Department of Anthropology. Specific responsibilties include curating excavated materials, 3D scanning lithic artefacts, and building photogrammetry models of the finds.

In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $18-$22 per hour. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) the specific grant funding and the terms of the research grant when extending an offer.

The preferred start date is November 13. The position is for 3 months at 27 hours per week.

The ideal candidate has prior experience working in a Paleolithic archaeology laboratory, experience archiving and analyzing stone artefacts, and coordinating undergraduate students working in an archaeological research environment.
