Advertised Summary Job Description This laboratory performs research in cancer. The incumbent will perform basic molecular biology such as DNA and RNA preparation, PCR, recombinant DNA cloning, gel electrophoresis, Western blots and tissue culture; incumbent will keep clear records of experimental results. Additional responsibilities pertain to laboratory safety, organizing supplies, research reagents, equipment maintenance, monitoring and ordering lab supplies and other related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications for Grade

Applicant MUST meet these minimum qualifications to be considered an applicant Requires a bachelor's degree in biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, chemistry or related field or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Additional Position-Specific Minimum Qualifications

Applicant MUST meet these minimum qualifications to be considered an applicant 0-Six months of experience in a research laboratory. Computer skills a must (word/excel). Good interpersonal communications skills are required. It may be necessary to work late on occasion to complete experiments.

Special Instructions

Preferred Qualifications Experience with cell culture and standard molecular biology techniques.
