Columbia University Technician A in New York, New York
Research lab in the Division of Surgical Science, Columbia University Irving Medical Center, is seeking a highly motivated and energetic technician A. Technician A will report to the PI. Responds to and completes tasks as instructed by the PI and staff associated with designated research projects.
Preparing materials for and assisting in experiments
Carries out the activities related to the creation and maintenance of humanized mice.
Performing experiments according to written protocols
Performs necessary analysis and calculations, records data and writes reports on research findings.
Maintain mouse colonies, including mouse ear tag placement, mouse tail snipping, isolation of DNA and genotyping via PCR.
Performs mice behavior
Performs IV/IP injections, and tissue dissection.
Ordering and maintaining laboratory supplies
Maintaining a lab notebook or records related to task
Preparing solutions, cultures
Performing other related duties necessary to the functioning of the laboratory, research project or work unit
- Two years of college or a completed A.A. program with an emphasis in chemistry, biology or physics or a completed animal husbandry program. One year of related experience, or equivalent in education, training and/or experience.
