Advertised Summary Job Description The Columbia Center for Translational Immunology (CCTI) is seeking a Technician A to provide research support. Will assist with laboratory maintenance functions for a group working in the field of transplantation immunology.

Responsible for supply inventory (stocking and ordering); equipment maintenance (tracking maintenance requirements and performing or arranging for maintenance of laboratory equipment) and biological sample handling (cataloging biologic samples in our repository database, shipping and receiving of samples from outside laboratories). Additional responsibilities will include compliance record keeping for use and disposal of regulated materials. Perform additional related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications for Grade

Applicant MUST meet these minimum qualifications to be considered an applicant Requires two years of college or a completed A.A. program with an emphasis on chemistry, biology, physics, or related science or equivalent in training and/or experience.

The candidate selected for this position is required to undergo a drug screening test prior to a final offer of employment being made.

Applicant MUST meet these minimum qualifications to be considered an applicant The desired candidate must be familiar with basic laboratory techniques and have exemplary work ethic. Must be detail oriented; possess excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills. Must be able to multi-task, work independently as well as part of a team, and work well under pressure. The candidate must be self-motivated. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, excel and database files required.

Special Instructions

Preferred Qualifications Bachelor of Science degree in molecular/cell biology or a related field. Previous experience in research laboratory.
