Advertised Summary Job Description A lab in the Columbia Center for Translational Immunology (CCTI) is looking for a highly qualified and motivated individual to work in the exciting field of stem-cell transplantation and cancer immunotherapy. The Technician A will support research in translational immunology under the direct supervision of the Principal Investigator, and assist in the continuous and smooth operation of the laboratory. Order reagents and equipment, and maintain inventory. Conduct biological assays to monitor immune responses in patients undergoing stem-cell transplantation on clinical trials. Assist in mouse studies. The technician will learn and implement a variety of techniques including flow cytometry, cell culture, and microscopy. Other duties include processing clinical samples from patients on clinical trials, immunologic assay development, as well as assisting with preparation and analysis of data. Perform additional related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications for Grade

Applicant MUST meet these minimum qualifications to be considered an applicant Requires two years of college or a completed A.A. program with an emphasis on chemistry, biology, physics, or related

science or equivalent in training and/or experience.

The candidate selected for this position is required to undergo a drug screening test prior to a final offer of employment being made.

Must be able to multi-task, work independently as well as part of a team, and work well under pressure. The candidate must be self-motivated.
