The Trustees of Columbia University in the City of New York Staff Associate II in New York, New York

The staff associate will perform telephone recruitment and in-person and remote assessment procedures of participants in a community-based intergenerational study of cognition. They will be responsible for facilitating all aspects of participant visits. The incumbent will be certified to assess capacity to consent and obtain informed consent following Institutional Review Board policies and regulations. The incumbent will perform remote and in-person interviews.

  • Functional Knowledge: Perform telephone recruitment and in-person and remote assessment procedures of paritcipants in a community-based intergenerational study of cognition. Responsible for facilitating all aspects of participant visits - managing compensation, scheduling of study visits, escorting participants (60%).
  • Problem Solving: In the event special attention is needed, the staff associate must notify supervior(s). (5%).
  • Decision Making/Autonomy: Ability to preioritize urgent participant concerns in a timely manner. (5%).
  • Technical Expertise: Staff associate will be trained and certified on standard administration. Assist in the training of volunteers and new staff in administration of study forms and cognitive tests. (20%).
  • Communication: Data management duties include, but no limited to, completing medical questionnaires, scoring assessments, organizing, filing, data entry and cleaning, photocopying materials, and preparing biological samples. (10%).

Bachelor's degree in specific research field and 4 years experience recommended.
