Staff Associate I

The Columbia Center for Translational Immunology (CCTI) at Columbia University Irving Medical Center, Sykes laboratory seek a Staff Associate I to carry out laboratory experiments on human specimens from transplant recipients. The successful candidate will set up and perform immunological assays, flow cytometric cell sorting/multiparameter analyses, nucleic acid extractions, single cell RNA and DNA sequencing. The candidate will perform big data analyses on data sets from these experiments, assist other members in such analyses. Duties related to our genetically modified swine colony, including genotyping, cryopreservation and other duties.

Candidate should have a strong working knowledge of computational principles and analytic methods as well as knowledge of laboratory processes, cellular immunology and nucleic acid extraction. Genotyping and cryopreservation will be learned on the job. Candidate should be able to work independently and as part of a larger team.

Required: Bachelor's degree in biology or related subject and related experience or equivalent in education, training and experience.
