The Trustees of Columbia University in the City of New York Senior Staff Associate ll in New York, New York

This position is contingent upon funding availability.

Reporting to the Statistics and Analytics Lead, the Senior Staff Associte II (Senior Survey Analyst) will serve as the project lead on sample size and survey weighting activities and execute data cleaning and analytic plans for reports and manuscripts. They will provide technical leadership and expertise as well as expert review for new survey proposals and help coordinate and lead analysis work within the survey unit.

* Serve as lead survey statistician on project teams, generating sample size estimations, and reviewing external sample design and survey weighting proposals 10%

* Serve as analytic lead on complicated analysis tasks and variance estimation, working closely with other analysts, CDC, and project stakeholders 10%

* Draft technical documentation for proposals, reports, and release packages 5%

* Participate in the creation and review of Standard Operating Procedures related to data cleaning, data management and analysis 5%

* Responsible for preparation of analytic plans, including the result tables, figures, and listing for inclusion in study reports and/or publications 10%

* Design, perform and interpret ad hoc analyses when needed. 5%

* Write and execute statistical programs for the creation of tables, figures, listings, and analysis databases 10%

* Work with the data management team to ensure data sets are ready for analysis or dissemination 5%

* Write SAS code for Macros and utilize SAS Macro library 10%

* Lead analysis and collaborate on abstracts and manuscripts 10%

* Participate in project meetings, including presenting proposed designs or analysis and contributing to decision making 5%

* Review, check, and validate code and output, and troubleshoot issues that arise 5%

* Mentor and assist other analysts 5%

* Performs other related duties as directed 5%


Bachelor's degree in in Statistics, Biostatistics, Epidemiology or related discipline, or equivalent in education and experience and 10 years of experience.
