JOB DESCRIPTION

Fox Corporation is seeking a Senior Tax Manager to join our team at the Corporate Head Office in New York City. The Senior Tax Manager will primarily be responsible for the Federal and State tax compliance and tax accounting for the company.

Responsibilities include:

  • Manage the preparation of and review the U.S. Federal, State, and local corporate and partnership income tax returns to ensure accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Manage the review of quarterly estimated federal and state tax payments and extensions, ensuring adherence to tax deadlines.
  • Review interim and year-end tax provisions, including the calculation of current taxable income and managing deferred tax roll forwards in accordance with income tax reporting standards.
  • Supervise the preparation of foreign-related filings, such as Form 5471s and 1042s, ensuring compliance with international tax regulations and reporting requirements.
  • Actively collaborate with various departments within the company to understand the tax implications of business operations and transactions. Identify, evaluate, and communicate the tax implications to relevant stakeholders.
  • Conduct in-depth research on complex tax matters and consistently monitor changes in tax laws. Effectively communicate findings to tax department management, enabling informed decision-making.
  • Lead initiatives to optimize tax processes and enhance efficiency. Develop and implement changes to improve internal processes for accurate tax data collection and reporting.
  • Provide effective leadership to direct reports and offer daily guidance, training, and mentorship to cultivate a team of proficient professionals. Foster a culture of continuous learning and development.
  • Assist in formulating responses to inquiries from tax authorities, ensuring compliance with regulations and representing the organization professionally.
  • Collaborate on various tax projects, including audits and tax planning initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required, accounting major preferred
  • Master's degree in taxation or CPA preferred
  • 7+ years of experience in domestic income tax compliance, with a minimum of 2 years in a managerial role. Experience in the media industry or with a Big 4 firm is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of complex domestic corporate income tax principles and tax accounting concepts
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced work environment
  • Ability to perform responsibilities effectively and efficiently with minimal supervision
  • Detail-oriented self-starter with strong organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong tax technical research skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to work effectively as a part of a team
  • Strong proficiency in general accounting, financial analysis, and Excel (vlookup and pivot tables)
  • Working knowledge of Corptax and Alteryx a plus

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is: $121,500.00-170,000.00 annually for New York City and Westchester County, NY. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
