Position Summary

The Senior Director of Web Services will manage and execute the roadmap of digital projects, enhancements, as well as new feature ideation and development across CUIMC's digital channels.

The ideal candidate will have experience managing technical projects to successful execution, a passion for creating an engaging digital experience, the curiosity to investigate new solutions, and the ability to act as a thought leader on digital strategies. In addition, the senior director will oversee digital results to measure success and optimize the digital experience and shape future strategy.

Responsibilities

Leadership/Management:

  • The Senior Director provides leadership to a team of developers, content creators, and web professionals. S/he leads the planning, budgeting, and forecasting of the Web Services team and oversees management of their respective areas of responsibility.

  • The individual also plays a mentorship role, guiding team members, ensuring the honing of their skills, and cultivating them for continued growth and responsibility.

  • Critical to the role is the building of organizational capacity/readiness to drive innovative digital solutions, and the creation of systems and processes to support efficiency and effectiveness within the team and across the CUIMC campus.

Technology:

  • The Senior Director plays an important role as a technologist by providing hands-on expertise in web development and technical support to identify digital trends, make user experience recommendations, and contribute digital ideas to broader business opportunities.

  • As the bridge between the Web Services team, Communications, and IT, the individual will help make sure employees get trained on implemented technologies and adopt best practices to support strategic priorities which focus on continual improvement, training, and innovation.

Analytics and Research:

  • The Senior Director leads the team in defining key metrics and leveraging analytics to drive business insights and identify digital opportunities, particularly as they relate to strategic impact and effectiveness.

  • An important component of the position is to create a culture of data-informed thinking with analytics and usability testing to inform strategy and communications.

Strategy:

  • The Senior Director leads the Web Services team in implementing and executing a digital roadmap to meet critical milestones and deliverables, ensuring digital enhancements are executed in alignment with strategies that support engagement and reputation management and are on-time and within budget.

  • The position will focus on the user experience, seeking to satisfy user needs and interests with consideration of the changing nature of user behavior to support the strategic goals of the institution.

Collaboration:

  • The role of the Senior Director is highly collaborative, and will partner closely with colleagues across departments and units.

  • Establishing strong relationships with stakeholders across CUIMC as well as supporting cross-functional collaboration and projects as essential to the role.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience, plus seven years of related experience.

Requirement

  • 7+ years of digital product strategy, project management, and content management experience, preferably within healthcare or academic environments

  • Experience leading a team

  • Knowledge and informed point of view regarding evolving tools, platforms and technologies in the digital space

  • Ability to work cross-functionally with multiple stakeholders

  • Knowledge of enterprise-level, web-based applications, including CRM and CMS tools

  • Experience in managing content for digital mediums

  • Strong interpersonal, influence, and presentation skills
