Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Research Data Associate. The Research Data Associate will provide support for the coordination of studies conducted within theSchizophrenia Research Program at the Department of Psychiatry, NYU Langone Health. Assists withrecruitment, participant enrollment, data collection, and regulatory maintenance. Ensures accurateexecution of research protocols in accordance with Good Clinical Practices, HIPAA and requiredobligations to patient/subject, Principal Investigator, research team, and sponsor. Works under directsupervision.

Job Responsibilities:

Demonstrates knowledge of the organization's Core Values and incorporates them into theperformance of duties.
Recruitment - Screens potential patients/subjects from NYULH affiliated hospitals and clinics,Bellevue Hospital, and other sources in the New York Metropolitan area for eligibility, andschedules the initial visits. This may include researching and gathering information from themedical record, physician referral, advertisements, and directly scheduling a visit to evaluate thepatient/subject. Maintains and fosters relationships with a variety of referral sources to achieveparticipant recruitment and retention targets.
Research Activities - Collects patient information for the active research project(s). This mayinclude abstraction of data from the patient chart (e.g., laboratory or diagnostic test results,surgical/radiation treatments delivered, adverse drug reactions, etc.); abstraction of data forpublications, or data collection from outside physicians' offices. Uses tools to facilitate datacollection (e.g., calendars, schedules, tracking logs, etc.). Audits and updates databases(Microsoft Access, Acquire EDC, and REDCap) and case report forms. Conducts study visits,obtains and documents information within the time frame specified. Follows through regularlywith the patient/subjects and reminds them of visits and compliance.
Study Regulations - Aware of study regulatory status and helps maintain up-to-date copies ofregulatory documents. Assists with updates to and submissions of necessary documents requiredby the NYU Institutional Board (IRB), NYU Office of Clinical Trials, and any other appropriateparties in order to obtain and maintain approval to conduct human subjects' research.
Clinical Competency - Position requires competency in performing EKG, phlebotomy, andhandling and storing specimens. Clinical training and didactic competency tests may be requiredto perform basic procedures as part of position expectations. In house training and certificationwill be provided. Other trainings and competencies may be included as required.
Continuous Learning - Position requires ongoing continuing education in all areas of researchdevelopment. It is expected that the employee demonstrates proof of ongoing research educationon a yearly basis. Training programs are provided through the SOM.
Participates in special projects and performs other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Associate's degree plus one year related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Computer literate with good interpersonal, writing and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree, preferably in science, public health, health education or a related field. Prior experience in a health care settings and/or research level interviews
Prior patient education experience
Experience working in an academic medical center environment and/or with psychiatric patient
populations
Prior experience working with research protocols preferred.
Ability to operate research related equipment preferred.
Knowledge of basic medical terminology preferred.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $51,243.96 - $60,392.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
