Advertised Summary Job Description As part of the Columbia Psychiatry Access Service incumbent will conduct patient screenings and clinical triage and help connect potential new patients with the appropriate providers and services.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Collaborate with clinical services and research study personnel to facilitate appropriate referrals.

Record screening information and assist with initial demographic information as per Referral Line protocol.

Speak with callers about receiving treatment in both the context of clinical and research services.

Work with program/clinical directors and faculty members to maintain awareness of clinical offerings of sites/programs, as well as the expertise of clinical faculty members, to help facilitate appropriate clinical referrals.

Refer appropriate callers unwilling/ineligible for research to appropriate clinical services.

Enter data and assist in the maintenance of a computer database to track calls.

Minimum Qualifications for Grade

Applicant MUST meet these minimum qualifications to be considered an applicant Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience, plus three years of related experience.

Additional Position-Specific Minimum Qualifications

Applicant MUST meet these minimum qualifications to be considered an applicant Computer literacy required (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).

Special Instructions

Preferred Qualifications Master's degree preferred.

Experience screening psychiatric patients, interest in mental health services, background in psychology or related fields, and good interpersonal skills.
