The Tang laboratory in the Department of Neurology at Columbia University Medical Center is seeking postdoc researchers to join ongoing efforts studying the neurobiology of cognitive impairment associated with neurodevelopmental and neurodegenerative disorders. Possible projects include, but are not limited to, mechanisms of cognitive dysfunction in mouse models of tuberous sclerosis complexes and Parkinson’s disease at physiological, behavioral, cellular and molecular levels.
Minimum Degree Required
Competitive applicants should have a recent PhD in Neuroscience or related discipline, and have demonstrated expertise in neurobiology, genetic mouse models, rodent behavioral assessment, major molecular/cellular biology techniques, imaging, and/or bioinformatics. Prior experience in primary neuronal and glial cell cultures, and human brain tissue handling will be a plus. The candidate must have strong work ethic, able to document all research data appropriately and learn new techniques quickly. S/he should be highly motivated, able to multitask, to work independently and as part of team.
