Summary Description

The cognitive neuroscience division of the Department of Neurology is currently recruiting a postdoctoral fellow interested in computational statistics, modelling, neuroimaging analysis. Responsibilities include the development and dissemination of statistical methodology, software development, and application to studies of Alzheimer’s disease and individuals at risk for the disease. The fellow will also work on statistical methodology related to one or more of the following imaging modalities: resting state functional MRI, diffusion tensor imaging, and structural MRI. The fellow will work as part of a cross-disciplinary team working on prediction algorithms and biomarker determinants for the progression to and of Alzheimer’s disease

Minimum Degree Required

Ph.D. and/or M.D.

Minimum Qualifications

• Completed Ph.D. in statistics, biostatistics, quantitative neuroimaging, or related fields • Strong applied statistical methods development experience • Strong programming skills in R and/or MATLAB • A strong publication record Experience with neuroimaging data, machine/deep learning methods, and spatial or time series analysis are also desirable.

Our division has a well-established record of post-doctoral training. The majority of our past fellows have either accepted faculty position and/or received career training awards. Our training program consists of structured weekly meetings with a mentor selected from a diverse faculty group, preparing 3-4 manuscripts per year, presentation in at least 2 conferences a year, as well as oral presentations at our division’s seminar. Resources are also available for conducting independent research and workshops in career development.
