Columbia University Postdoctoral Research Scientist in New York, New York
Job Requisition Number 0000662
Field(s) of Specialization
Position Title Postdoctoral Research Scientist
Department PAT Pathology
Location Medical Center
The Department of Pathology and Cell Biology at Columbia University Medical Center would like to recruit a Postdoctoral Research Scientist to work in the lab of Dr. Andrew Teich. Our lab focuses on Alzheimer’s disease, but through multiple collaborations we also have projects that address other neurodegenerative diseases of aging.
Minimum Degree Required
PhD / MD
Proficiency with the Linux environment and experience analyzing data using Matlab, R, and Python is required. Candidates with a PhD degree and prior experience working with genomic data are preferred.
Our laboratory is a wet/dry lab that does both experimental work as well as computational analysis of genome and genomic expression data. The job candidate would thus have the opportunity to work in an integrated environment and further his or her exposure to experimental “wet-lab” science. The PI is also the co-director of the New York Brain Bank, and this serves as a resource both for our research as well as for the education of laboratory members in neurodegenerative disease biology.
