Summary Description

We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral research scientist to work for a grant-funded study on cognitive neuroscience of aging. The postdoctoral research scientist will be working in the Cognitive Neuroscience of Aging Lab at Columbia University in the City of New York. Our lab conducts cutting-edge research to understand the association of risk and protective factors with cognitive and brain aging across the life span, as well as the potential resilience and reserve mechanisms underlying the association. The successful candidate will work closely with current members of the multidisciplinary team of neuropsychologists, biomedical engineers, cognitive scientists, and epidemiologists to further our understanding of the respective roles of reserve and resilience in the cognitive benefits of dietary and related factors. Main responsibilities include participating in processing and analyzing brain imaging, cognitive, clinical, and epidemiological data, writing manuscripts, participating and presenting in scientific conferences, and writing grants.

Minimum Degree Required

Ph.D. and/or M.D.

Minimum Qualifications

Candidates should have a PhD in neuropsychology, cognitive neuroscience, neuroimaging, epidemiology, or related fields. Proficiency in spoken and written English is required. Strong oral and written communication skills, excellent organizational with high attention to detail, the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with other members of the lab, personal and professional integrity, and flexibility in work schedules are valued.

Preferred Qualifications

Candidates with track record in performing research on Alzheimer’s disease and/or cognitive aging, in processing and analyzing brain MRI imaging data, and/or analyzing neuropsychological tests data will be preferred.
