The Department of Mechanical Engineering welcomes applications for a tenure-track faculty position. Applicants at the ranks of assistant professor or associate professor without tenure (but on tenure-track) are preferred, although exceptional candidates will also be considered at the tenured associate or full professor ranks. We are searching in all areas of mechanical engineering, broadly interpreted, and encourage applications from candidates who have an interest in the school-wide initiatives that relate to autonomous systems, engineering and medicine, and sustainability. Areas of emphasis include robotics, controls, design and manufacturing, energy and sustainability, thermofluids, biomechanics, and nano/micro technology.

Candidates must have a Ph.D. or its professional equivalent by the starting date of the appointment. Applicants for this position at the Assistant Professor and Associate Professor without tenure levels must have the potential to do pioneering research and to teach effectively. Applicants for this position at the tenured level (Associate or Full Professor) must have a demonstrated record of outstanding research accomplishments, excellent teaching credentials, and established leadership in the field. The Department is especially interested in candidates who can contribute, through their research, teaching, and/or service, to the excellence and diversity of the academic community.
