Advertised Summary Job Description Under the direction of the Division Chief, the incumbent will be responsible for the assessment and management of patients, including diagnostic and therapeutic interventions under a medical collaborative agreement. S/he will complete patients' history and physical; order appropriate tests; provide discharge instructions and patient education, and ensure follow-up appointments. The selected candidate will join a progressive NP group to care for patients in the advanced step down/CCU. The Nurse Practitioner will evaluate chest pain patients in the Emergency Department utilizing an ACS / Chest Pain Protocol to direct patient care. S/he will admit and manage a select group of chest pain patients to the telemetry unit. For Interventional Cardiology, the selectee will obtain consent, monitor pre and post procedure status of patients, and screen patients for research protocols. The selected candidate will be expected to perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications for Grade

Applicant MUST meet these minimum qualifications to be considered an applicant Requires Master's degree or equivalent in education and experience, plus four years of experience, plus a current New York State NP and RN license.

Additional Position-Specific Minimum Qualifications

Applicant MUST meet these minimum qualifications to be considered an applicant Must be eligible for ANCC Board Certification. Recent experience in Critical Care required; previous NP experience a plus; must have the ability to adapt to a flexible schedule. Flex shifts, Night and/or Night with Day rotation positions are available. Excellent clinical, interpersonal and communication (both written and verbal) skills required.

Preferred Qualifications Experience working in Cardiology preferred.
