Position Summary

The Celiac Disease Center at the Columbia University Irving Medical Center seeks a Financial Analyst to provide support and analysis for financial activities, purchasing and accounts payable for all Center activities. This position reports to the Center's Administrator and Director of Development.


  • Supports the Administrator and Director with compilation of reports relating to the financial operations including Budget and Gifts.

  • Collaborates with Administrator and Director in conjunction with the budgetary planning process.

  • Provides financial support for fundraising initiatives including gift transmittals, event revenue logs, and acknowledgement letters.

  • Collaborates with Administrator and Director to transact annual financial closing processes.

  • Maintains vendor files and transfers to ACH payments and electronic invoicing.

  • Provides financial and budget support including processing all accounts payable invoices and purchasing transactions via ARC and FFE

  • Utilizes Center’s P-card to facilitate payments and purchasing of reagents for the lab; and reconciles charges on a monthly basis charging supplies to the associated chart string.

  • Responsible for processing of vouchers, requisitions, and travel and business expenses.

  • Collaborates with Administrator and Director for continuous improvements in the accuracy of financial transactions.

  • Performs fiscal and operational tasks relating to routine and special projects and activities.

  • Orders supplies for Center and Center related activities; and coordinates catering and room reservations.

  • Performs other related duties and responsibilities as assigned/necessary.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience, plus three years of related experience

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy

  • Excellent communication and computer skills

  • Flexibility to work on weekends as needed
