Advertised Summary Job Description Grant Funded:

Candidate will work with the Head Start Program, Heilbrunn Department of Population and Family Health, Mailman School of Public Health. Incumbent will be responsible for the daily maintenance of Head Start facilities in compliance with health and safety codes for young children. Will ensure the cleaning of the center is consistently and appropriately performed; conduct housekeeping services (general); operate any and all motor equipment to strip and wax floors and corridors; clean glass walls, partitions and clean and dust windows; clean clasrooms, bathrooms and kitchen. Shampoo carpets and remove spots, sweep, mop and wash entrance, exterior sidewalk and surrounding area. Dispose of trash and recycling in a manner as directed by supervisor. Move and set up furniture and equipment and materials for special events. Change light bulbs and flourescent tubes; receive and store household supplies. Responsible for minor repairs; and inspect center daily for child safety. S/he will conduct periodic inspections and report any malfunctions or tampering with life safety equipment(e.g. fire extinguishers, smoke detectors and exit signs). Travel to different sites to deliver letters or small packages as needed. Perform other related issues as needed.

Minimum Qualifications for Grade

Applicant MUST meet these minimum qualifications to be considered an applicant High School diploma or equivalent plus one year relevant experience required. Must possess the ability to read and interpret documents, such as safety rules and Head Start procedures; willingness to attend service training as needed to acquire knowledge of current Head Start policies and practices required. some heavy lifting may be required.

The candidate selected for this position is required to undergo a drug screening test prior to a final offer of employment being made.
