Advertised Summary Job Description ColumbiaDoctors' Communications Office, located in Fort Lee, N.J., has a need for a Communications Coordinator. The Communications Coordinator serves as a member of a team that supports the communications efforts of the ColumbiaDoctors clinical enterprise. The Communications Coordinator will support communication and marketing activities, including but not limited to project management, content creation for digital newsletters and marketing collateral, and event support, as well as SEO/SEM, and digital advertising.

  • Outstanding verbal and written communications skills

  • A sophisticated journalist's approach and sensibility toward content and design

  • Able to communicate complex and technical material to a lay audience

  • Self-starting, highly organized manager with the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, and respond to shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to handle sensitive information with exceptional judgement and discretion

  • Prior experience with social media, as a web content creator, or other digital communications role, with demonstrated writing experience - samples and test required

  • Experience working with complex and diverse stakeholders to produce content

Special Instructions

Preferred Qualifications 1. Some experience working in a healthcare, a clinical institution, with luxury brands, or in higher education, preferably in communications or marketing

  1. Background in search engine optimization, search engine marketing, marketing database, and digital display advertising campaigns

  2. Experience identifying trends and insights, applying insights to optimize spend and performance on ongoing basis

  3. Familiarity with video, audio

  4. Prior experience with Drupal (preferred), Wordpress, or other blogging platform; basic HTML; CSS (preferred); Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel); Google Drive Suite; fluency with Mac, Mac, iOS, and PC operating systems; proficient with the Adobe Creative Suite including Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator.

Essential Functions Reporting to the Assistant Director of Communications, the Communications Coordinator will:

  • Manage project timelines, deadlines and deliverables for the ColumbiaDoctors communication team

  • Create and maintain an organized repository of ColumbiaDoctors templated materials to be shared with internal stakeholders

  • Maintain an editorial budget that outlines all assets related to publications and deadlines

  • Manage all aspects of scheduling, producing and deploying digital newsletters and announcements using a third-party platform (iContact)

  • Cultivate, develop, and maintain content, and update sites for ColumbiaDoctors properties, including the intranet, websites, digital collateral materials, and newsletters

  • Serve as a collaborative member of the communications team to create or collaborate on accurate, compelling, original content

  • Create print brochures and collateral materials to support ColumbiaDoctors administrative units and initiatives

  • Work with third-party vendors (freelance writers, photographers, etc.)

  • Assist in developing social media content for ColumbiaDoctors on an as-needed basis

  • Assist in organizing and supporting ColumbiaDoctors events

  • Follow brand guidelines, HIPAA regulations, protect patient privacy, verify content validity, copyright clearance, licensing or other intellectual property rights for new and existing content

  • Track performance and analytics, and compile and analyze them regularly to refine approaches and drive improvements

  • Perform other tasks as assigned
