Position Summary

The Institute for Genomic Medicine (IGM) seeks to hire an experienced and skilled enrollment manager to supervise a team of clinical research coordinators (CRCs) and Senior CRCs for the All of Us Research Program. The activities performed by the Clinical Research Enrollment Manager are part of a national initiative which will contribute significantly to the development of a research cohort seeking to engage a million or more people nationwide. Research participants in this cohort will be asked to volunteer their health data over many years to improve health outcomes, fuel the development of new treatments for disease, and catalyze a new era of more precise preventative care and medical treatment. The Clinical Research Enrollment Manager, reporting to the All of Us Research Program Director for the Columbia University Irving Medical Center enrollment sites, will be responsible for the supervision of all CRCs within the IGM assigned to the All of Us Research Program, as well as supporting CRCs from other departments who are working on All of Us . The total number of CRCs is approximately 20-25, stationed at 15-20 enrollment locations, ranging from clinical practices to community-based locations.


  • If not trained in Phlebotomy, must be able to be trained to perform blood draws as an essential part of this position

  • Supervise clinical research staff for all aspects of conducting a complex and multi-site clinical study.

  • With the support of the Program Director and Operations Manager, will assist with hiring, management, performance appraisals, training and goal setting of the CRCs. Ensure that all staff is adequately selected and trained for their responsibilities. Will perform supervisory functions of the Senior CRCs, and all other program staff when needed.

  • Develop and implement plans, schedules, and standard operating procedures under the guidance of study leadership for assigned sites.

  • Collaborate effectively with others to ensure progress of enrollment milestones and completion of the study.

  • Supervise adherence to research protocol by all staff, and disseminate changes in protocol or implementation to all clinical research staff.

  • Collaborate with team members to identify and overcome barriers to recruitment and work closely with the Program Director to develop scripts and materials for approval by the IRB.

  • Develop/improve data systems for regular and timely reporting of all clinic-based and community activities.

  • Coordinate with clinical leadership and staff to respect and observe existing workflows.

  • Provide reports to determine performance expectations for each enrollment site and coordinators.

  • Track outreach encounters for each staff member and enrollment site.

  • Supervise the supply needs for each enrollment site and coordinator and work with Program Director and Operations Manager to manage inventory and track budgets.

  • Assist with performing other related duties as assigned.

The Clinical Research Enrollment Manager will work independently as well as part of a team. S/he will be required to relate to diverse populations and communicate with participants and in culturally sensitive manner. S/he will connect with participants to build rapport for long-term commitment to and engagement with the All of Us Research Program. Communications skills include excellent written and verbal communication skills, compassion, discretion, and follow-through.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree plus five years of related experience in a clinical out-patient/in-patient, and/or research setting.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Phlebotomy skills strongly preferred, or willingness to be trained as a phlebotomist and ability to perform blood draws required.

  • Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred fluency in other languages will be considered.

Other Requirements

  • Strong management experience is required, excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, attention to detail and the ability to work independently.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and related business intelligence programs.
