Summary Description

Under the guidance of the Principal Investigator, the Research Associate Scientist will be responsible for the performance of experimental projects aimed at the understanding of the molecular and cellular mechanisms of neurodegenerative disease in mouse models.

Responsibilities: Carry out experimental work on research projects established in liaison with the PI and to be performed either independently or in collaboration with postdoctoral research scientists and graduate students. Responsibilities include experimental design and data analysis as well as training of new lab personnel. Assist the PI with the development of grant applications and preparation of scientific publications.

Minimum Degree Required

Ph.D. and/or M.D.

Minimum Qualifications

PhD degree in biochemistry, neurobiology or related discipline and several years of postdoctoral training or equivalent laboratory experience. Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, demonstrated ability to work independently and bring projects to successful completion.

Preferred Qualifications

Strong expertise in the field of neuroscience and experience with histology and microscopy techniques.
