Psychologist/Social Worker Job Opening at Columbia University Irving Medical Center

Position Titles: Associate in Clinical/Instructor/Assistant Professor level positions in the Department of Psychiatry at Columbia University Irving Medical Center (CUIMC)

Job Description: There are immediate openings for licensed clinical social workers or psychologists at the Columbia University Irving Medical Center Faculty Practice Organization (CUIMC FPO) offices in NYC. These are full-time, clinical positions in an outpatient setting.

Primary responsibilities involve conducting diagnostic/intake evaluations of adults, as well as individual and group therapy utilizing empirically supported treatments (particularly CBT, DBT and/or ACT). Ideal applicants should have previous experience providing outpatient treatment, strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well across disciplines and function effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team within a large academic medical center. Additional preference for candidates with experience in evidence-based treatment delivery for trauma, depression, anxiety, sleep problems and/or personality disorders. 1. Candidate(s) will conduct intake evaluations/diagnostic assessments of patients with psychiatric disorders and psychological distress. 2. Candidate(s) will provide group and individual psychotherapy. 3. Candidate(s) will work closely with a clinical team, including other psychologists/social workers, psychiatrists and psychiatric nurse-practitioners.

The CUIMC FPO sees a mix of private pay and managed care patients and has a particular focus on serving the Columbia medical center community, among others. We prioritize evidence-based interventions and have an array of specialized programs to best serve our patients. All positions currently allow for hybrid work, with on-site time spent in our Columbus Circle offices in midtown Manhattan. Our faculty serve as part of multi-disciplinary teams with ample opportunities to learn from and consult with colleagues including attend case conferences, peer supervision, and Grand Rounds at CUIMC. Opportunities may exist for clinical supervision and teaching. There are also professional development funds available to faculty to support licensure renewals, as well as obtaining additional training, conference attendance, professional organization members, among other opportunities.

Minimum Educational Requirements:

PsyD or PhD in Clinical Psychology or Licensed Clinical Social Worker

NYS license required.

For psychologists: Instructor level requires graduation from an APA-accredited doctoral program in Clinical Psychology, and completion of an APA-accredited pre-doctoral internship program. Assistant Professor level requires 2-3 years clinical experience in a hospital or private practice setting.

Salary Range

Psychologists: $105,000 - $125,000;

SWs: $75,000 - $95,000
