Social Worker Job Opening at Columbia University Medical Center

Position Titles: Associate in Clinical/Instructor/Assistant Professor level positions in the Department of Psychiatry at

Columbia University Medical Center (CUMC)

Job Description:

The Department of Psychiatry is seeking social workers assigned to work with a child and adolescent population within

the Faculty Practice Organization at CUIMC. These are full-time, clinical positions in an outpatient setting focusing on

providing services to children and adolescents struggling with anxiety and anxiety related disorders through Columbia

University Clinic for Anxiety and Related Disorders (CUCARD) in Westchester.

Primary responsibilities involve diagnostic/intake evaluations of children and adolescents, as well as individual and group

therapy utilizing evidence based supported treatments. Clinicians will be expected to maintain regular contact with

patients' outside providers and facilitate appropriate discharge to outpatient care when needed. Candidates must have

substantial experience working with children and adolescents with anxiety disorders and with cognitive behavioral

therapy. Experience working with high-risk patients is preferred. Applicants should have strong interpersonal skills and

the ability to work well across disciplines and function effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

1. Candidate(s) will conduct intake evaluations/diagnostic assessments of child and adolescent patients.

2. Candidate(s) will provide individual and group psychotherapy and will coordinate discharge plans for patients.

3. Candidate(s) will work closely with a clinical team, including psychologists, social workers, and psychiatrists.

4. Candidate(s) will have opportunities to attend case conferences, peer supervision and Grand Rounds at CUMC.

Opportunities may exist for clinical supervision and teaching.

Minimum Educational Requirements:

Licensed Clinical Social Worker

NYS license required (LMSW or LCSW).

Candidates will be required to obtain a New Jersey License.

The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to

departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The hiring range below

represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Salary Range

SWs: $75,000 - $95,000
