Advertised Summary Job Description The Associate Director of Recruitment will work closely with the Director of Admissions and leads in the strategic planning, development and execution of student recruitment for the Admissions team at Columbia University's School of Professional Studies. The team's goal is to yield the most highly qualified students and provide exemplary support throughout the enrollment process to the students for the School's diverse portfolio of programs. These offerings currently include cross-disciplinary MS and MPS Degree Programs, Pre-Graduate and Graduate Certificate Programs, Structured and Unstructured Certifications of Professional Achievement, take-a-class options for bachelor's degree holders and visiting students enrolled at other institutions, High School Programs, and the American Language Programs.
CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop and implement a cohesive recruitment plan for programs offered by the School of Professional Studies that includes proposal of an annual recruitment budget.
Supervise high-performing admissions counselors to work cohesively as a team to drive prospects through the recruiting cycle.
Develop and execute effective onboarding to new employees. Identify professional development opportunities and provide ongoing training to recruitment personnel.
Lead the entire cycle of the recruiting process while evaluating the team's workload to guarantee optimal recruitment activity.
Monitor recruitment travel and associated expenditures to create annual reports that evaluate recruitment effectiveness.
Develop strong relationships with academic directors, faculty and staff in the School's programs to support them in recruitment and enrollment efforts.
Maintain a detailed understanding of the admissions process and the School's programs to ensure the recruitment efforts are appropriate and support the yield of the students for each unique program.
Lead efforts for tracking analytics and impact metrics in order to grow a data-driven and technically skilled recruiting team.
Calculate ROI from targeted outreach events; provide creative and cost-effective ideas to increase innovation in recruitment strategies.
Maintain calendar of team recruitment activities and track year over year recruitment activity and results.
Cultivate and maintain relationships with stakeholders at relevant feeder organizations and institutions.
Recommend collateral and swag needed to support recruitment activities and track collateral and swag inventory.
In partnership with relevant stakeholders, develop, maintain, and execute a communication plan to support recruitment efforts, including writing communications.
Assist in the development, support, and execution of diversity recruiting efforts.
Support tracking and analyzing data to better understand non-start reasons for admitted populations, and build initiatives to better capture these populations in future cycles.
Serve as the primary lead for the planning and execution of School-wide recruitment initiatives, and assist with high-profile program-specific recruitment activities as needed and appropriate.
Assist with application reading during peak seasons.
Attend and assists with relevant School events, including orientation, career week, and graduation.

Applicant MUST meet these minimum qualifications to be considered an applicant - Prior experience in higher education recruitment or admissions, and preferably also with online programming.
Knowledge of graduate education enrollment trends.
Excellent project management skills; demonstrated ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast?paced environment.
Exceptional attention to detail, strong organization and time management skills, and the ability to perform routine and non-routine work with changing priorities and aggressive deadlines.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills (verbal and written), and experience presenting in small group and large group settings.
Successful track record of working with diverse and multiple groups in a positive manner.
Demonstrated leadership and team?building abilities.
Proficient in MS Office/systems (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
CRM proficiency preferred.
High energy and passion for recruiting.
Demonstrated ability to make sound, independent decisions and lead others.
Ability to handle confidential information in a mature, professional manner.
Creativity, self?confidence, and flexibility.
Must have a willingness to travel as needed during peak recruiting seasons.
Sound problem-solving and decision-making abilities, both as an independent entity and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications - Master's degree in related field.
Experience managing a team
Previous recruitment, talent selection, or career management responsibilities.
