Advertised Summary Job Description Reporting to the Senior Executive Director, the Assistant Director is responsible for reporting and analysis related to the work of the major gifts team. This position also provides strategic support to designated members of the major gifts team helping to plan and coordinate outreach, events, travel, and reporting related to alumni and other key stakeholders. This team member also oversees work related to the team budget.

The Assistant Director works to translate business needs and questions into reporting and analytics to enable the team to increase fundraising results and productivity. This position is familiar with the operations of Major Gifts, Individual Giving, and Special Events fundraising. S/he will meet core and partnership values of teamwork, integrity, accountability, and respect.

Responsibilities:

  1. Works closely with the Senior Executive Director on all reporting and analysis needs related to the fundraising progress of the major gifts team. This work includes but is not limited to maintaining gift pyramids and gift strategy documents, and updating status reports regularly. The Assistant Director will also learn and utilize reporting and analysis tools around specified projects throughout the year including campaigns and special fund initiatives.

  2. Provides prospect management support to major gift officers in the form of preparation of data, planning and executing outreach and meetings for specified alumni groups, assisting with donor management reporting, meeting material preparation, event and travel details, and follow-up related to donor outreach.

  3. Assists with prospect identification and prospect research including preparation of individual and industry research reports, online research, and maintenance of database reports.

  4. Assists with the department's annual evaluation to assess the strengths of the programs and identify areas for improvement by working with the team on annual fundraising strategies.

  5. Works with the Senior Executive Director to oversee budget planning and monthly updates and reconciliations. Produces regular reporting on budget status as needed.

  6. Oversees preparation and organization for all team onboarding, and provides general organizational and operational support for the Major Gifts team.

Minimum Qualifications for Grade

Applicant MUST meet these minimum qualifications to be considered an applicant Bachelor's degree and/or its equivalent required. Minimum 2-4 years related experience required.

Applicant MUST meet these minimum qualifications to be considered an applicant The successful candidate must have interest in database management, reporting, and analysis. Excellent organizational, written, and oral communication skills and an ability to complete detailed work in a fast-paced team environment. Must have strong analytical and problem solving skills. Must have the ability to work in a flexible and high performing team environment. Availability to work occasional and pre-planned evening and weekend hours are required.

Special Instructions

Preferred Qualifications Minimum of 2-3 years of related experience in business analysis and reporting, development, alumni relations, or donor relations preferred. Work with data visualization platforms preferred.
