Administrative Coordinator (aHEO) -  English Department & MFA Program (Creative Writing)

POSITION DETAILS

The English Department and MFA Program in Creative Writing invites applicants for an Admin Coordinator to assist the MFA Program Director in all aspects of program administration, including but not limited to faculty appointments; budgeting; admissions and recruitment; website maintenance; reading series logistics; liaison with all other college departments, including the Dean’s Office, Graduate Admissions, and Payroll; public relations and publicity; program fundraising; and management of Work-Study employees.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree required.

We seek a candidate with a minimum of two years experience managing these tasks for an arts MFA, preferably creative writing, who has extensive experiencerunning a reading serie; experience and comfort working with high profile artists; exceptional communication skills; experience working with graduate arts students and hiring and supervising work-study students; high proficiency with Excel, Word and MS Office; ability to hard code in HTML using Visual Studio Code; and capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously. A graduate arts degree in creative writing would also be an asset.

  • Manages basic office functions such as communications, meeting schedules, work plans, staff assignments, and distributing information.

  • Collects data for, prepares, and distributes reports and presentations using word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software.

  • Updates office databases, lists, and files to ensure completeness and accuracy; maintains current information on department web site(s); maintains department archives and collections.

  • Conducts internet and/or database research and performs basic systems queries to locate information related to department activities.

  • Maintains department fiscal plans and budgets; assists in budget administration and invoice processing.

  • Provides basic information, instructions, and materials as requested by students, faculty, and others who contact the department.

  • May supervise office staff and student workers.

  • Performs related duties as assigned.

Salary commensurate with education and experience ($62,689 -$75,131).
