Advertised Summary Job Description Reporting to the Director of Academic Administration and Finance and working directly with the Director of Undergraduate Studies, the incumbent provides administrative and clerical support to the undergraduate programs.

Assists with management of 800+ student academic records and checks all records of student economics majors on an ongoing basis to verify major core requirements; following pre-approved templates and checklists, the incumbent identifies and documents problems and keeps precise records of all information relating to requirements for the major including required departmental approvals and exemptions. With prior approval of Director of Undergraduate Studies, the incumbent communicates directly with students to notify them of requirement problems, to direct them to online information on departmental web pages, and to follow up to ensure all problems have been resolved. Initiates work under supervision of Director of Undergraduate Studies and follows established protocol for escalation of all problems, issues, questions, and related issues. Organizes and maintains confidential files and records. Responds to general or routine inquiries from students; assists and communicates with faculty on undergraduate matters as needed.

Minimum Qualifications for Grade

Applicant MUST meet these minimum qualifications to be considered an applicant High School diploma or its equivalent required. Two years' related experience required.

Additional Position-Specific Minimum Qualifications

Applicant MUST meet these minimum qualifications to be considered an applicant Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication (verbal and written) skills required; tact and discretion essential. Very strong proofreading skills essential; high-level attention to detail required. Must be able to maintain confidentiality. Strong computer proficiency, including Excel, required.

Preferred Qualifications Some college preferred. Some experience in an academic environment preferred.
