FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

The Marxe School of Public & International Affairs has recurring needs for adjunct faculty with the ability to teach graduate and undergraduate courses in Public Administration, Higher Education Administration, and International Affairs. Currently, we seek faculty for academic year 2024-2025. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching core and/or elective courses in one or more of the areas listed above and will be available to students on a weekly basis. Day, evening, weekend, and online classes may be assigned as needed by the School Teaching-related professional development, such as training in Brightspace or AI applications and course integrity may be assigned as needed. Some adjunct faculty may be asked to teach online-asynchronous courses previously developed by a Marxe School faculty member, using the materials developed for that course.

Teach in one or more of the following areas in undergraduate or master programs in Public Administration, Higher Education Administration, and International Affairs:

Economic Analysis & Public Policy

Research Methods: Data Collection and Description

Research Methods: Data Analysis for Public Service

Public and Nonprofit Management I & II

Race, Inequality, and Public Policy

International Development

Housing & Community Development

Budgeting and Financial Analysis

Capstone Seminar in Higher Education

Governing New York City

Health Care Policy

Program Evaluation

Advocacy and Protest in Social Movements

Communicating for Equity and Social Change

Communication in Public Settings

QUALIFICATIONS

For Adjunct Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Full Professor:

Ph.D. degree in area(s) of experience or equivalent. Also required is the ability to teach successfully.

For Adjunct Lecturer:

Bachelor's degree in area(s) of expertise, and the ability to teach successfully.Master degree in a related field preferred.

Minimum of two years of college teaching experience with evidence of successful teaching demonstrated through student evaluations, peer-observation reports and/or professional teaching references. Experience with online instruction required for faculty teaching online sections

Adjunct Lecturer: $91.67

Adjunct Assistant Professor: $100.00

Adjunct Associate Professor: $108.33

Adjunct Professor: $112.50
