Minimum qualifications:

• Experience in networking (e.g., Network Virtualization, Open Protocols, Application Acceleration/Load Balancing, Virtual Private Networks).

• Experience in designing, implementing and troubleshooting hardware diagnostics.

• Experience in Hardware, Networking Equipment, Operating Systems, and Data Center Operations.

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience working with and troubleshooting hardware/network related issues using Linux based tools.

• Experience in scripting or coding.

• Ability to collaborate and work with vendors as well as international teams.

• Excellent project management, written and verbal communication, and problem-solving skills.

Google isn't just a software company. The Hardware Operations team is responsible for monitoring the state-of-the-art physical infrastructure behind Google's powerful search technology. As an Operations Technician, you'll install, configure, test, troubleshoot and maintain hardware (like servers and its components) and server software (like Google's Linux cluster). You'll also take on the configuration of more complex components such as networks, routers, hubs, bridges, switches and networking protocols. You'll participate in or lead small project teams on larger installations and develop project contingency plans. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $66,500-$100,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. • Contribute to and lead efforts/projects in the deployment, maintenance and support of current and new data center servers and network infrastructure.

• Lead complex troubleshooting and resolve critical or escalated technical issues over a significant population of affected equipment.

• Assist in deploying next generation Machine Learning (ML) platforms, providing feedback to local deployment/project teams.

• Help test and troubleshoot new complex server hardware components and designs.

• Configure and troubleshoot fiber and network devices/optics.
